Quarter Life A Senior Theater Group

WHAT IS QUARTER LIFE?

Quarter Life is a theater group focused on training, developing and showcasing talents from the senior sector of the society. Its members are from ages 50 and above, mostly retired individuals.

The objective of Quarter Life is to empower its members and give them the opportunity to reinvent themselves through various projects that can maximize their potentials in a caring artistic environment through the performing arts disciplines of voice, dance and acting.

Our main goal as a senior theater group is to defuse all frustrations, depressions and other senior-related problems and transform all of it to a more health and wellness, positive outlook. We believe that the only salvation for our senior members is to keep them active. Thus, our goal is to influence and guide our members to have a creative mind-set which can be transformed and experienced through the performing arts.

A SHORT HISTORY
The idea of putting up a senior theater group started from a very simple conversation between Professor Jerome D. Vinarao (Founding Artistic Director of Center for Arts Foundation and a member of the Rotary Club of Makati-Rockwell) and Mr. Atsukuni Munetomo (a Japanese businessman and a member of the Rotary Club of Makati-South) during a joint Rotary Club celebration on June 2009. Mr. Munetomo thought of the idea of creating a group of senior retirees who will be given the chance to perform onstage. And since Professor Vinarao is in the field of teaching and directing performing arts, the two immediately clicked and continued to plan and brainstorm. Since then, the idea has grown into a reality and looks forward to a very productive future.
